You would probably have to work with a non profit agency. Do you have a case worker or someone who oversees your daily living or financial situation.

Often people in the community will donate computers they don't use anymore to non profit agencies. Large corporate companies often update their computer software every 5 years. They usually donate it to worthy causes as a tax write off.

Sometimes there are some people who are "computer nerds" who update their computers yearly. You may want to ask your friends or relatives if they have an older computer they want to give away. My mothers friend has donated a few computers to my mother to give to my extended family.

Just let your friends, colleagues, neighbors, or anyone you associate with know you would be interested in a hand me down computer. It may take a few months to hear from anyone, but its worth it for now.

I've only heard about low cost, refurbished computers for the blind. You can try contacting your state's talking book library branch and asking if they know of any resources.

You can't get a computer for free. A computer is not needed to live. Some low income people can get lower costs on internet and can get computers while making payments. People already are getting free phones. I dont think anyone deserves a free computer handout

I would build you one for free from spare parts I have in my junk drawer, but I cannot afford the shipping costs. Sorry.

The public library.
