I want to know I would like to become a job coach are there any organizations in Southern Calfornia?in where I could work for the disabled part time while am I going to school

Contact the ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens). They will be able to point you in the right direction.

Southern California is a very big area. You might try looking up the Dept of Health and asking them about different organizations that deal with the disabled. They usually can use all of the help they can get. Good luck and God bless you.

Well I don't know about So Ca, but I do know that in No Ca there are agency's that specialize in challenged adult care and training, perhaps by checking around with care facilities they may be able to point you in the right direction

OVR hads no idea, then a couselor got a job for pushing carts for 10 months. I couldn't do any more. I had a stroke and somethings are the worst, Aphasia now. OVR is helping for a better job.

Apply at your Local Independent Living Office I did they help.

I was a job coach until my client broke my hand, making me unable to work for a long time after that.
He's on his own after that, for all I care.

Go for it! try u Tafe if you have one they should be doing course for youth worker as we call them here ask for youth work or carer for disalbed people, I should know I am mildly handicuped and help were ever I can, Good luck.

Check with the state's social services and talk to social workers there about your ambition.....
