Why don't you ask your parents? You are on DLA (or so you think) and that is Disability Living Allowance. It come in two types (one you are obviously not qualified for) and different levels. I would guess you are getting low level care allowance.

Care allowance

Level Qualifying age (3 mos - 64 years) Qualifying needs

High - Care needs throughout the day and night

Middle - Care needs throughout the day or night, not both

Low - Care needs at certain times or when cooking

Mobility allowance

Level Qualifying age Qualifying criteria

High 3 years - 64 years Unable/virtually unable to walk

Low 5 years - 64 years Needs guidance and supervision when moving around

You need to check any documentation you have to see what the benefit is you are receiving and contact the relevant agency that provides that benefit.

If you can't, you can contact are advice line, Scope Response and our helpline staff should be able to help you determine the nature of your disability allowance. Call 0808 800 3333.

Hope that helps.
